80 Squadron R.A.F. Mk XXIV Spitfire
The Mk XXIV Spitfire in the foregound, squadron aircraft code AW2, was operated by 80 Squadron R.A.F. and seems to be a popular model subject for this mark of Spitfire as by all accounts it was only this squadron that used it in Hong Kong. Patently it has been taken off register and is being scrapped, together with others. I have added this info as a casual observer only which is not difficult to glean.
In the backgound is 80 Squadrons Spitfire replacements, the twin engined D H Hornet.
