Hi Klaus,

I have been searching for the location of Gomes Villas. An internet hit came back with the Hong Kong and Kowloon Postman Welfare Association 2nd Anniversary Special Booklet (translation) from 1950 mentioning that Gomes Villas were located at 1-3 Chatham Road which I think includes buildings A and B in the above photo. Not sure if you want to create a new place location for Gomes Villas and take the lead in doing the editing? Thanks.

The 1927/28 Jurors List also mentions a Mr. Crapnell living at Gomes Villa on 1 Chatham Road.

Hi moddsey,

please feel free to create places for Gomes Villas.

If you look at the 1920 Kowloon map on Gwulo, there are three houses (2 are semi-detached) on KIL 582, No's 1-3 Chatham Road?

The location of the De Jongh family residence, 2 Chatham Road [c.1900-c.1960] seems verified for me. Don't know what the building at B is, but A is clear, at least for one of the double-houses. Charles in Shanghai, the author of the place, refers that the owner moved to Shanghai before WW2, so there possibly was a change in ownership and name. Or the DeJongh family lived in one of the Gomes Villas. You might ask Charles.

Anyway, I don`t enough about these places, so it's your turn. Will edit the places on the photo later.

Regards, Klaus
