Bamboo and paper umbrella a

I bought this umbrella in April 1958. It only cost HK$1.50 and smelled strongly of fish glue(?).  When opened the paper tended to stick and there was a loud cracking sound, with the occasional small tear.  41 years later it still smells a bit and the paper still sticks a bit, but it is a treasured souvenir.  It is probably still waterproof but it will never be taken out in the rain again.
