This and the following photogaphs of Little Sai Wan were taken by Ron some time in about 1964, two years after the R.A.F. had moved out of the camp and the civilians had taken over. (Andrew S)

This photo is not taken in 1964, but in late 1970s. In this photo, industrial buildings have been erected just opposite to Little Sai Wan.  It is the scene of 1970s when another industrial area was developed in Chai Wan East.  Most of these buildings still exist. Moreover, near the middle of the photo there is the CMB Chai Wan Depot. This 5-storey building, built in mid 1970s, has been demolished for some months. On the left of CMB Chai Wan Depot, there was a construction site over the low hill. It is the Chai Wan Swimming Pool (opened in 1980).

Thank you for the identifying the correct year. I had to guess when Ron Keyser took the photograph and the others in the set that he sent to me.  By August 1981, on my return visit to Hong Kong, the road had been built from Chai Wan along the shoreline to the camp.  I stood near the new swimming pool complex and took photographs (later stitched) of Little Sai Wan and also one of the pools.  These two are in my 1981 Andrew Suddaby's photos gallery.
