Dear David:

Although not mentioned in your newsletter this week, I remember a terrible typhoon while at the Dairy Farm - not sure what year, but probably 1948/49. I remember it well because our car was blown out of the garage you see above. My Dad, Arthur Peill, got on his knees in only his underwear and crawled out to the car and managed to get it safely locked away before all hell broke lose! I was so proud of him.

Every time I look at Gwulo something reminds me of my happy childhood in HK. Thanks.

David: I’m not sure you are aware this picture above maybe Braemar & that I have given permission to the restoration guys  to use my photos. I also had a message from “scottp” when he posted his picture of the house.

I also sent you a message about the typhoon in 1948/49 - did you see it?

By the way is there any way all the “1950s Peill Family Photos” can all be in one file with all relevant text messages to follow? If so, not sure how to accomplish this. Help.

Hi Rebecca,

I've enjoyed reading your comments about the typhoon, and your discussions about Braemar. My feeling is that the building shown above is a more modern building than Braemar, as they don't look similar.

I've made a gallery, “1950s Peill Family Photos”, for your current photos and any future photos. You can see the gallery at: https://gwulo.com/image?field_gallery_tid=12621&items_per_page=All

Regards, David
