Ferry Point

That's Ferry Point, next to former Jordan Road Ferry Piers.

Hi Mike,

After looking at your photo for quite a while, I believe it had been flipped.  The low rise buildings on the left should have been on the other side as the western side of the Ferry Point buildings (eight of them) should be the sea.  Your photo was likely taken while you were on a ferry.

I don't think it's flipped. This is the view from the typhoon shelter. There is open ground on the right where the final two blocks had yet to be built -so I think this image is from around '68?

It's also the orientation of the blocks that made me thinking.  They are NWN towards ESE.  

From 1963 aerial photos, the location of the western 4 blocks were still being reclaimed from the sea.

Unfortunately I was unable to read the business signs as it would be the easiest way to identify.

Thomas, if you look at the 1968 map on hkmaps.hk, you can see that the final two blocks were located on the NW section of the development: Man Cheung (1970) and Man Yiu (1969)

I think it's correct, viewing from NWN towards ESE. 

The higher levels of those 8 buildings are recessed except on the southern facades of the 2 buildings on the south.

You were right.  I assumed Mike was on the Jordan Ferry.  I went to have a look, on reclaimed land last Saturday.
