Another photo from the 1928 album of William Richmond Fell who is standing on the far left of this group. I don't know what the occasion is at the Repulse Bay Hotel- nor do I know who the Westeys are, nor Conia, the lady who is being transported in the sedan chair, is.
Since I first posted this, moddsey has suggested that the man standing third from the right could have been the captain of the SS Macedonia, shown in this photograph below.

Re: Photo
Is this photograph from the same section of photographs of the SS Macedonia?
Context of photo?
Yes, it’s on the facing page to the photo of the SS Macedonia, but the tiny photo of the captain of the Macedonia has been fitted into a little space on the final page of the album, a few pages later. This particular album has only just surfaced. It contains a miscellany of photos from many different countries and includes a lot of family photos taken in England around 1927. The few Hong Kong photos are at the end of the album and may not have fitted into WRF’s main Hong Kong album from which I posted photos some time ago.
Re: Photo
Normally scenes like the main photo from the 20s/30s are of round-the-world visitors, tourists etc. standing outside the Repulse Bay Hotel, some beside or in a sedan chair. There may be a connection with the Macedonia. Not sure if the captain is one of the persons who are not named in the photograph. The chap, third from the right?
A match?
I agree that could well be the same person.
It would be useful if we could find out the name of the captain of the SS Macedonia at this time. WRF obviously couldn’t remember it the many years later when he organised his photographs.
