Here is another photo from the 1928-29 album of William Richmond Fell taken while he was patrolling the China coast with the 4th Submarine flotilla. To my inexperienced eye the craft doesn't look like a Chinese fishing boat. If I'm right, there is a figure in a white shirt sitting in the stern. This rock off Wei Hai Wei was certainly worth a photo.
