  • 01 May 1954  : Hong Kong took part in the second Asian Games in Manila, The Philippines, marking its first-time participation in the Asian Games. On 05 May, Stephen Xavier won a bronze medal in the 200-metre race, becoming Hong Kong's first Asian Games Medallist
  • 24 May 1958  (- 1 June 1958) : Hong Kong participated in the third Asian Games held in Tokyo, Japan, winning for the first time a silver and a bronze medal in table tennis and shooting events, respectively.
