A Bedford tractor truck & passenger trailer.
Over the years there evolved many types of passenger transportation between the terminal and aircraft parked on the apron at Kai Tak.
When arriving aircraft reached the terminal area and parked, experienced passengers would remain seated while the impatient herd rushed off into the waiting transit bus. After they had gone from the aircraft, the remaining ‘in-the-know’ passengers would board the packed transportation and be conveniently placed standing just inside its exit doors. Which was very convenient in getting a head start of those early-birds packed into the body of the bus for the queues at Immigration and Customs inspections. As aircraft got much larger with many more passengers, it became more of a gamble on which of several waiting transit buses to get on board in the race to the terminal.
