There is a pier like structure seen in the water. Was that part of the reclamation process ?

This is more 1886 than 1868 as the 2nd gen HSBC building (1886-1933)  is already there. So probably around 1890. The pier like structure could be part of the reclamation. It is likely not a pier as it doesn't end at the praya wall. On the other hand, there are dolphins or piles near the praya and at the end of the structure. This could be used for mooring of boats.
