Post Office & Blake Pier
That is Blake Pier you are asking about. The Star Ferry was to the left, not in the range of the camera shot.
You can find a lot of detail about Blake Pier & more images HERE, (Link) including how it was removed and preserved in a number of different locations before finishing up at Stanley, where you may still see it today.
If you have the origional photograph, can you read the bus numbers or the destination boards on any of those buses visible ?.
Date of the photo
The photo was taken after 1924 when the P&O Building opened. Likely from the late 1920s or 1930s.
Re: Photo
I think the buses may also provide some information. China Motor Buses ? As I understand, CMB commenced their service on Hong Kong Island in 1933. Five routes were operated from Blake Pier as mentioned at: https://hongkongbuses.fandom.com/wiki/China_Motor_Bus
