Captain Aubrey Vernon Greaves moved from the West Indies to Canada in 1906. In 1916 he garduated from the University of Toronto in Medicine, and saw medical service in France in the last months of WW1. He joined the Colonial Medical Service in 1925 and in 1930 was appointed Director of the Pathological Institute at Hong Kong University.

Note: Some sources give 1944 as the year of his repatriation but it seems more likely he went with the other Canadians in 1943, perhaps taking up his post in Toronto in 1944.
