When Peninsula Hotel was built in 1928 by The Hong Kong & Shanghai Hotels, it must have been one of the most conspicuous presence at Tsim Sha Tsui.
The photo was taken in 1930, in front of the rail road along the sea shore, this building stood out at Tsim Sha Tsui. This is one of my favorite photo.

Peninsula Hotel & Kowloon Park
This is a nice photo, and I would like to have permission from Gen Suzuki to use it. I recall playing in this park as a child many years ago. I thought Whitfield Barracks was further north across from St. Andrew's Church?

Ho Bob,
You're right that Whitfield Barracks (modern-day Kowloon Park) is to the north. We can see the southern section of the barracks at the top of the photo, and its location on the map at: https://gwulo.com/node/2375#15/22.2993/114.1706/Map_by_ESRI-1956_Kowloo…
The park to the right of the Peninsula in this photo is shown at https://gwulo.com/node/41839
