Philip Snow (The Fall of Hong Kong, 210) says his transfer to Japan was announced on December 24, and that's the date given by the Wikipedia article and the sources that reproduce it. Snow has Isogai leaving and being replaced by Hisakazu Tanaka 'early in the new year'.
