Looking towards Kadoorie Hil and the China Light and Power Heaquarters at the the junction of Waterloo Road and Argyle Street. At the bottom right is the air raid shelter that has been noted here. The shelter appears to be blocked off by an earth embankment. The hand-coloured photo is from 1945 and had been taken by a member of the RAF 5025 Airfield Construction Squadron that was sent out to repair the Japanese constructed runways at Kai Tak and expand other airfields. It appears that the Squadron was billeted in the vicinity of where this photo was taken.
