Great Wall Film Studio / 長城片場 Former Address

Sat, 04/08/2017 - 10:19
Greetings. I found this photo with the label "HauWongTempleNewVillage長城片場舊址". The Chinese words say it was the former site of Great Wall Film Studio. According to Wikipedia (source below), the temple was built around 1730; and it was at the junction (north east corner) of Tung Tau Tsuen Road and Junction Road in Kowloon City. I will adjust the location marker for Great Wall Film Studio in accordance with the above information. The Wikipedia page shows a recent street view of the site.

Greetings, and thanks philk for the news article.  The renovated building with its cafe is on the northwest side of Junction Road and Tung Tau Tsuen Road.  The caption/label for the photo I found does not say specifically that Great Wall Film Studio occupied the temple at one time but its wording implies so hence caused me to believe.  The news article mentions studios (more than one) in the area.  The cafe site could very well have been the Great Wall Film Studio so that is where the location marker is going to be.  Regards,  Peter
