I'd hoped the breakwater would help, but it's older than I expected, dating back to 1884.
There's no sign of any reclamation off Wanchai, and Morrison Hill looks untouched. So probably somewhere between 1900-1920. Can anyone narrow it down further?
If you can show a scan of the back of the card, that might give us a clue too.
Jardine's buildings at East Point appeared to be intact. I wish the photo is of bigger resolution so we could see more.
I remember there is another old photo show the buildings at East Point somewhere here, but could not remember exactly where. Might be good to bring the two together for comparison.

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Causeway_Bay_Typhoon_Shelter, it looks like that the date should be before 1908 if we are sure that it is the original breakwater shown here in this photo.
Will scan the back of the postcard tomorrow.

That series of Tuck' postcards is shown at http://tuckdb.org/sets/1252
One of them has '1924' as the date, so 1920s seems likely.
I think the expansion of the shelter in 1908 refers to dredging the area behind the breakwater, rather than moving the breakwater.
