R.A.F. Little Sai Wan. Andrew in his k.d.uniform

Between about March and November we switched from the heavy R.A.F blues uniform, as worn in the U.K., to our relatively comfortable tropical uniforms.  Chung the amah who looked after about twelve of us believed in starching shirts and shorts.  They were very smart but were sometimes a bit tough on the skin.  We all wore small towels, with 'Good Morning' printed on them, round our necks to stop the sweat from going further downwards.  A large ceiling fan in each room made a futile attempt to keep the air cool during the hot and humid weather.
