Greetinhgs from Canada and an old HK hand,

I served in HK about 1950-52 and again about 56-58. In that second tour, as STO at LSW. Between the two tours, I served at  GCHQ analysing Soviet radar. I suppose that was why I wondered why we knew of no Chinese radars bewteen HK and Canton. I thought there should be and ddecided to look for it. Tai Mo Shan wa an isolated peak, far from anything, but did have a rouch track running up it. I gathered a generator and receiver and made an antenna, borrowed a tent  and drove off into the wild. I had scarcely assembled everyhing and got the gen started when I heard the characteristis thunp thump    thump-thump of a Soviet Token radar. I reported my my findings to 90 Group back in UK. That was the last I heard of it; I did not even receive an acknowledgement----not that unusual in the RAF of my day.

I idly searched for LSW and discovered the RAF eventually built something up there. Well. Well. What did they build
