I was up on the roof sunbathing and this is a view from the roof top towards HK. this was 1974 prior to the tunnel. The trace of ribbon on the hillside is the main road from PTS and HK. Each month we had 2 runs, one, being up this road nearly to the top and back to PTS and two, out the back of PTS and up the mountain over the top and into the back gates thro Wong Chuk Hang. Now the cable-car runs up the same mountain and on this run we always tried to bring back a cobra snake that use to sunbathe on the trail and sell it to the locals. Until one of us got bit and went a bit funny. We also found that prior to the run some of the locals would come and look at you closely/inspection and talk about how you felt running that day. We found out that several betting books were being kept in Wong Chuk Hang as to who was going to come in first. No wonder we had such a good cheering turn out at each race.
